Privacy Policy

This document is a starting template for the Aria service. Have it reviewed by a lawyer for your jurisdiction, and replace the placeholder company details, contact address and retention periods before launch.

1. Who we are

Aria ("we", "us") operates an AI companion available as a bot on Telegram. For questions about this policy or your data, contact privacy@example.com.

2. What we collect

Telegram account identifiers — your numeric Telegram user ID, and your username and display name if you have set them. We do not receive your phone number or contact list from Telegram.
Conversation content — the messages, voice notes and images you send to the bot, and the replies it sends you.
Companion configuration — the personality, name and preferences you define, plus the memory notes derived from your conversations.
Generated images — pictures created for you and the prompts used to create them.
Technical and usage data — timestamps, message and image counts, subscription tier, error logs and abuse-prevention signals.
Payment data — handled by our payment provider. We receive a subscription status and a transaction reference, never your full card details.

3. Why we use it

To generate replies and images, which requires processing what you send.
To give your companion memory, so it stays consistent over time.
To operate subscriptions, usage limits and billing.
To detect abuse, fraud and content that breaks our rules.
To debug faults and improve reliability.

We do not sell your data, we do not use your conversations for advertising, and we do not share them with other users.

4. AI processing and subprocessors

Replies and images are produced by AI models. Depending on the feature, this may involve third-party model providers acting as our processors under contract. Where we use such providers, we require that your content is not used to train their models. Our current infrastructure and model subprocessors are listed on request at privacy@example.com.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Contract — to provide the service you asked for.
Legitimate interests — security, abuse prevention and service reliability.
Consent — for optional features, which you can withdraw at any time.
Legal obligation — where we must retain records.

6. How long we keep it

Conversation history, memory and generated images are kept while your account is active so your companion works as expected. When you delete your data, it is removed from live systems promptly and rotates out of encrypted backups within 30 days. Limited records needed for accounting, legal or abuse-prevention purposes may be retained longer.

7. Your choices and rights

Delete everything — send /delete in the chat. This removes your companion, history and generated images from our systems and cannot be undone. It does not delete the copy Telegram holds — see section 11.
Export — send /export to receive a copy of your data.
Access, correction, restriction, objection and portability — email privacy@example.com; we respond within 30 days.
Complaints — you may complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Internal access is limited to staff who need it to operate the service, is logged, and is used only for abuse investigations, support and debugging. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sharing information you cannot afford to have exposed — including passwords, financial details and government identifiers.

9. Children

Aria is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we delete it. Reports can be sent to safety@example.com.

10. International transfers

We may process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Telegram, as the platform

Aria runs as a bot inside Telegram, which is operated by a separate company that we neither own nor control. Your use of Telegram is governed by Telegram's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Telegram keeps its own copy of your conversation, on its servers and on your devices, under its own policies and retention periods; chats with bots are not end-to-end encrypted. Deleting your data here removes it from our database, but we cannot delete anything held by Telegram or stored on your own device. To remove those copies, delete the chat inside Telegram itself. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for how Telegram stores, retains or handles your messages.

12. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will announce them in the bot before they take effect, and update the date at the top of this page.
